The Captive Ocean Series explores the captive maintenance of specific ocean organisms. The natural history of
these organisms as well as their natural interactions with the worlds ocean habitats are explored. This
scientific research is utilized to develop methods and procedures to integrate these organisms into captive
systems. We have recently expanded the books within this series to include a large amount of color images.
Specific species are illustrated with these high resolution color plates. All of the specimens photographed
within this series are specimens that have been successfully harvested from their natural habitats and have
been successfully transported into captive systems. We have choosen to only utilize images of captive specimens
because some of the organisms in nature are extremelly difficult to successfully harvest and transport. This
means that all the organisms photographed within this series have been successfully transferred to captivity
and are good candidates for captive aquarist.
